Assessment Options

As one of our services and to better assist you in determining your results from four weeks of boot camp, we offer pre-camp and post-camp fitness assessments. The assessments will consist of several measurements, and a determination of lean muscle mass/ body fat%. Your first assessment should be conducted before the end of the first week. We will schedule the second evaluation upon the completion of camp.

You have four assessment options available. Please choose one.

Option1). No assessment. Assessments are not mandatory; they are a tool for you to measure your camp results.

Option2). An assessment conducted by our wellness coach (Rose Mary Laflamme). Rose Mary uses a non-invasive electronic method to determine lean muscle mass/ body fat%. She will also take measurements, weight and will determine your resting metabolic rate (metabolism). Rose Mary will offer several nutritional supplements, which you are not obligated in any way to purchase. Contact info: Rose Mary 666-0671 email- rlhwell@aol.com

Option3). An assessment conducted by Jimmy. Jimmy will take measurements and determine lean muscle mass/ body fat% by utilizing the caliper method(pinch method). He will caliper 3 sites. Those sites are the right triceps (back of arm), the right upper thigh and the lower abdominal area on the right side. This method is not accurate if your BMI exceeds 35. If you’re unsure of your BMI, please refer to the following site for a BMI chart: http://www.consumer.gov/weightloss/bmi.htm

If you choose this option, make sure to bring shorts or very loose fitting sweats, so we can access the top side of the thigh, half way between the knee and hip. We will also briefly discuss your diet and any concerns or physical issues that you may have.

Option 4) The Bod Pod. This is most accurate method for determining body composition and metabolic metabolism (MM). MM is necessary to know when determining the number of calories you burn per day. Based on these numbers, we can adjust your caloric intake as needed to create a caloric deficit which will cause a loss of body weight and body fat. This is the only option that is not free. This option is outsourced to 3V fitness. Their normal fee is $65. As a member of TUF BC, you may obtain this service for $35. If you’re interested, you may contact them directly. Make sure, you inform them, that you’re a member of TUF Boot Camp. Once you’ve received your results, you will need to set an appointment and discuss them with Jimmy. Based on this info, you will receive a breakdown of your suggested daily intake of macronutrients (carbs, protein, and fat) based on a 40% carb, 30% protein, and 30% fat ratio.
